The 120th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 2nd May 1928 over the Rowley Mile, was Flamingo (5/1), a bay colt by Flamboyant out of Lady Peregrine, owned by Sir Laurence Philipps. The winner won by a head in 1 minute 38.80 secs, with a length and a half back to the third. A field of 17 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £290,900 in 2017)
